Theme Details
This is the first (of many) free Tumblr themes designed by me, Arsha. I learned how to make a Tumblr theme by following a step-by-step video tutorial series offered by NetTuts. I am far from a coder or web developer, but finishing this theme is a great accomplishment for me.
There were a few bumps the the road, but I managed to get done without throwing my laptop out the window!

Additional Background Options
To show how easy it is to customize this theme, I decided to find additional background options just in case you don’t like the default. After installing the Be Original Tumblr theme, click Customize, then Appearance from the top menu and insert the changes below. Don’t forget to changes the NOTES color as well.

i was barely able to get my own theme working correctly and its still missing a few things.
i actually really like your design. its almost perfect but there is no pagination and i would like a part where people can see who i follow.

I just have one issue…
I’m a photographer and using Tumblr to mainly present my work. Is there a way off adding so that people can see the hi-res version of the shots by say clicking on them or a small link underneath?

Hi Kristen! The pagination has been updated.
The notes don’t display when you click on notes….is there anyway to fix this so you can see what others thought/said about posts?
Just wanted to inquire about one issue I have with your template. When I click on the demo, it displays the option to include notes on each post. However, once you install the theme, the option to let readers comment and “like” the post goes away.
Do you have a solution to this?
I apologize for voicing an issue that wasn’t there. I didn’t realize that you if you’re logged into your own account the “Notes” won’t appear on your page. You have to be logged out to see it appear. The same goes for the “like” and “reblog” function.
I want to install the comment code for disqus for this theme, and want the “0 Comments” part on the right hand side, underneath the tags but still inside the paper box. I’ve tried playing around with this but I can’t seem to get it to appear anywhere inside that box…where/how should I do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Love this theme, looks very professional, yet ‘gentle’ on the eyes. You say you don’t have experience, but if you make more themes like this, you could easily fool people. Keep up the good work, and thanks so much.
LOL! Thanks Dan! I really appreciate your comments. But I really have no clue as to what I’m doing. I keep saying I’m going to take a course or online tutorial in CSS/HTML, but I can never find the time (or motivation lol)
arsha great work congrats, i love this theme.
But i have a problem with the see more button.
Every time i click it it says “Code corrupted. Insert fresh copy. ”
I use the default code and haven’t actually changed anything
I’m pretty noobish with html/css and could use some help.
Hello! I’m new to tumblr and this is the first theme that I decided to skin with for my account. I think that it’s very simple and very too-the-point as a theme (in other words, I LOVE IT!). I do have a few questions, it may be redundant… But is there a way to make comments/follow/like appear, and put our followers/following section on the side panel? Feel free to email me about it. hi. I love your theme but i have a couple of issues.
I can’t get my /ask or any of my pages to show up on the side panel.
Are they suppose to show up there or else where?
will you be fixing the template so that notes display when you try to view them?
Love this theme! One thing I would like a fix/ work around is pages… I usually have 1-3 pages on my blog but they don’t seem to be linking and right with the theme
I fixed the URL to page, and change something to make cufon support Vietnamese. But i cann’t show the note when viewing full post

Thanks for the awesome theme
One of my tumblogs is a simple ‘photo of the day’ that I post for my own amusement and to generate a daily update to my Facebook Wall that I then match up as the captioned version of the same photo used as each day’s FB Profile photo. I tried a few Tumblr themes that didn’t quite work for this very simple little photo blog. The photos weren’t prominent enough or weren’t placed against a non-competing background or the overall look was too close to a physical photo album, etc. YOUR THEME does a simple but brilliant thing. The photos occupy most screen real estate in an attractive frame that makes them pop. WHEN YOU WANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, your pop-in SEE MORE is right there–but goes away easily when you don’t want it competing with the photos. GREAT SOLUTION to the 1, 2, 3, 4 column choices among various Tumblr themes. When you want a wide one-column, it’s there. When you need two-columns, ditto. PRAISE!

This is a really classy theme, nice work! I’ve been having similar problems to the ones posted above; the links to my pages aren’t working and the notes aren’t visible. Also, I’d like to be able to change the color of the box that pops out when you click “see more.” It would be great if you could help me out, I’m at astudyinpurple-.tumblr.com. Thanks!

I figured out how to get the /pages to show up in the side menu:
there is an error in the template code.
this part:

should read like this:

ie: the curly brackets are missing around “URL” –> “{URL}”
Sophie, about the problem you mention about changing the color of “see more”: that box is just a image, so you have to look for it in the code (its called “see-more” or somthing like that), downlad it, change the color in photoshop, upload it, and put the code. Wish im helping.
